Things have been a little unexpected behind the scenes. I feel like everything has been coming at me at once lately. This update hurts. It’s not one that I’m happy about, but I don’t really have a choice. This is the situation I was given, and I’m trying to make the best decision for everyone involved.
I will no longer be working with the same illustrator for the rest of the Newhouse series. The last three books will be have a different illustrator. With this in mind I had to decide if I would keep the first four books the same or get them updated.
I thought about it a lot. And I mean a lot.
It would be easy to split the series and leave it at that.
However, in my heart that’s not what it is. These characters are all a family. They’re connected. They belong together. My vision has always been to line them up together and see them match.
I’ve made the decision to redo the first four books and have new covers illustrated. I’m still working out the details. I thought about waiting to tell everyone, but that didn’t feel right to me either. While I don’t know WHEN it will happen, these covers will be going out of print. I wanted readers, new and old, to have the knowledge I have. It didn’t feel right to hold this information and let y’all continue to buy the illustrated copies, thinking the same ones will follow.
I’m sorry to everyone who has already purchased these covers. I realize your books won’t match, or you will have to purchase new ones. I genuinely hate that. It breaks my heart. I hope you understand this wasn’t something I wanted, and I truly wish things were different.
I am excited about the new covers. They will be VERY different than the ones in print now. We are doing a new concept and artistic style. I think you will love them. When the new covers release, I’m planning something fun.
